Court's Blog

Hi Everyone,

I created this blog site so we can all stay updated on each others' lives. So, here goes my first blog!

My mom called me Monday night after talking to Kim, and she now has a virus of some kind. She's unable to keep much food down, so she is hooked up to an IV to keep her hydrated/the babies nourished. There is a possibility that she might be released from the hospital as early as this weekend, but obviously that's if she's feeling better. Thanks again to everyone for the get well wishes, cards, flowers, balloons, and other gifts. I know Kim and William appreciate them very much. Today is week 25 and we are so excited! Every week is a milestone, so the babies will continue to grow stronger every day. My mom and Darrell are coming to Charlotte as soon as Kim is released to help them out at home; it's such a blessing having them so close.

Would love to hear from you....let us all know what's going on.
Love,
Court

  1. Courtney! I've never "blogged" before. Do I just respond to your entry or somehow make a new entry and link it to this one?

  2. You just did it, Kyle! It's similar to posting comments on FaceBook. You can either post a comment like you've done above, OR at the top right side of your screen, you should see a link called "New Post". Click on that one to start your own. :P Have fun!

  3. Hi everyone! I'm sorry to hear Kim is under the weather but I have my fingers crossed that she can go home this weekend. I know that she will be more comfortable at home.
I sent your link to mom and dad (hopefully they will figure it out) :)
I also sent the link to Kaylee and Cory so that they can talk to everyone also.

  4. Great, Lori! Thanks. Yes, this is a site to keep the family connected. So, what's going on with you guys? How's Zak? I'd love to hear what Cory and Kaylee are up to these days. Did you make it to Utah for Traci's 35th? I would have loved to have gone, especially since I love skiing, but it just wasn't possible right now.
I am going to have a 100 lb addition to my home soon...a 4 1/2 year old named Tyson! He's part lab/part retriever and he's been with his foster mom for the past 2 years. She works with me at Microsoft and has offered him to me for free. She just has too many animals of her own and wants to find a good home for him. I know they are a lot of work, but he's past the puppy stage and house broken...I'm so excited!

  5. That will be a great addition to your home!
Kaylee and Cory just finished with basketball. Cory's team got 2nd place in the district tournament, it was pretty exciting. Zakary is not doing much. He's not able to play t-ball this year because of his surgeries he had in September. His doctor will not release him until June and then it will be time for him to have his next back surgery. He is going to help his team from last year, he'll be like a manager/bat boy.
I wasn't able to go to Utah because of work but it sounded like they had a great time!!
Are you still enjoying your job at Microsoft? Was Kim able to get out of the hospital this weekend?

  6. To keep you all in the loop,
I had to take Zak to Scottish Rite Hospital this morning to see his orthopedic doctor. He has been running fever for 3 days and has been complaining of back pain. After reviewing his x-rays, his orthopedic doctor found that the screw that is holding the rod is coming loose from his spine and is what is causing the pain but not fever. So..... he will be back in surgery next Thursday to replace the rod that was taken out in September.
I'll keep everyone updated next week after his surgery.

  7. Zak is out of surgery and is resting. It was a hard surgery, in that the incision is from his neck to his bottom. They put the other rod in and secured the two rods with a screw and wires. We thought we would be able to go home tomorrow but the doctor just said we would be here for a couple days. He is not interested in us getting Zak up to walk right away like he usually wants us to do. So, we are just going to be taking it easy.

  8. Hi Everyone,
Well, I guess you've heard by now that I am officially an aunt! I still haven't seen the munchkins yet, but will take and upload some pictures for you when I do. Hope all is well...
